Necklace Layering: Start With Length
The golden rule of necklace layering is varying length. Two necklaces of the same length will simply overlap and look cluttered rather than intentional. A good starting combination:
- A choker or short piece sitting at the collarbone
- A mid-length pendant necklace a few inches below
- Optionally, a longer chain or invisible chain necklace as the final layer
Three pieces is usually the sweet spot – enough to look deliberate without overwhelming the neckline. If your outfit already has a busy neckline or pattern, pull back to two pieces, or even one statement piece worn alone.
Mixing Textures and Tones
